This was the only downer as we previously enjoyed complimentary water activities at other properties, BUT NOT THIS ONE. NO SWIMMING AT THE BEACH, and they mean it. Thanks so much Crisoforo, YOU ROCK! Stayed in building 5 3rd floor great ocean view, a bit too much pounding base from pool area, but what the heck we are on vacation. Great seared ahi and freshly grilled shrimps. A secret we stumbled upon was the fresh seared fish at the market grill for lunch. Really liked the surf and turf as well as the salmon. Oceano had a great "California Style" clam chowder. Always helpful and it seemed as if she was one of 3 triplets as she seemed to be everywhere. Shout outs to Kenia from the activities staff. The service was great as always at all Secrets resorts. My wife and I just got back from a very relaxing trip to Secrets Los Cabos. staff is friendly, resort is beautiful, and the 24hour coco cafe was great. when we were finally seated, they made us sit outside in the heat where i got bug bites, and there were only about 4 tables of people inside the restaurant! why would you make us sit outside? i wish the experience was a little better because without those mishaps, the vacation would've been great. what time was i supposed to call in order to secure a seat? 6am? we ate at the regular restaurant portion of himitsu on our last night and were told there was a 15 minute wait when there was no one else waiting and a huge number of open tables. so, i called himitsu at 9am and i was told the reservations were all booked. himitsu teppanyaki requires reservations the day of. only certain items were refilled each day - why? the 24 hour room service was a plus but the menu options were limited. why is there a dress code at all? we got the preferred room which included mini bar and snacks which included alcohol shooters, chips, and candy. at 2pm for a buffet, why does he need to wear a t-shirt? the restaurant is right by the pool. we were told there was a dress code for men, even for lunch. my bf was wearing a tank top - again, it's 90+ degrees and humid. how were we to know? the next day, we laid out at the pool and we decided to go to market cafe for lunch. that night, we ate at portofino, and we saw a man walk in with shorts and sandals and he was seated without any issues. we felt like we had no other options, so the next day, we paid $40 in taxi to go into downtown to purchase long pants and shoes. we were told by concierge, our golf cart driver, and the salesman at the resort store that the dress code is strict. there was no way of knowing this info unless you clicked on each restaurant's info on the website prior to booking - who really does that? the only 3 restaurants open on the first night we were there were the two that required the dress code and one buffet with mediocre food. We were surprised when we were informed by concierge that a dress code was required for dinner at two of the restaurants himitsu and portofino (men must wear long pants and closed toe shoes.) why? it's 90 degrees and all we packed were shorts and flip flops. We upgraded our room to a preferred swim-out ocean view room, though the ocean was not really viewable. We stayed for 4 days and enjoyed the quietness of the resort. my bf was wearing a tank top - again, it's. The next day, we laid out at the pool and we decided to go to market cafe for lunch.
